Heres a great Stat

1 in 10 Walmart employees are on state funded health care in Arizona. This is a great article, that goes into what some states are trying to do to make Americas largest employer pay his fair share. And to what extremes Wally, its lobby, and pocket Republicans are doing to fight back.

Ive been saying it for years, but ill say it again... Your real enemy, the real threat to your life is not hiding in a cave, hes watching the game in a taxpayer funded luxury box, in Your Town, USA thinking "I deserve this, hell, only i can afford it anyway!!!" as his wife says "Let them drink Heineken"

Eghch! Green, skunky, pompous grog.

Choad

In case you didnt know, season II of Tripping the Rift starts wednesday, da 27th @9 on Sci-Fi. I find this show quite amusing. I had a couple of neighbors, Devorah and Matt who loved to call people Choad. She had a very strict definition of what a choad was, "The Choad" in this show is very close to that discription.

What happend to you Agent Devo? I hope all is well.

The Return of Fred Rodgers

"His ghost is the same as he was in life -- sweet, friendly, soft-spoken -- but when you're a floating, transparent wraith, the effect is totally different."

The Weekly World News has been my favorite newspaper forever. Its all the fun of tabloids, without the celebrity uselessness. The WWN contains about as much fact as NBC news, except NBC has people convinced their crap is real. I have quite a collection of WWN, spanning almost a decade, including the December 28th, 1999 end of the world spectacular.

2 Missions

Might as well have a recap of the last few Missions. Last weekend was the "Big Piney Piss Off!". A 7 mile canoe trip down the Big Piney along with some camping amongst friends. It was quite an exciting weekend of water, beer, fire, and guns. Im still waiting for the pictures of the Giraffe we shot, repeatedly, until severed at the neck. Almost got crushed by a tree on a mission for wood. Of all the ways ive almost kicked da bucket, that was in the top three of least appealing ways to be found. Matt, Josh, and I lined up dead, under a tree with a cooler of Budwieser, classic. Oh ya, in case you didnt hear, Bert caught a fish!

Did the Bonnarro. Great weekend, killer tunes, lotsa gin and beer. It was great to see Panic, but the best part of the weekend is the bands you hardly get to see, or the ones you never heard of. Id only seen Modest Mouse once, back in 2000, and it was a strange, but great show.
-insert flashback-
The Rialto Theatre, Tucson, im on this mission with Secret Agent Destiny. Its a vintage theatre of 1920s glory thats long past its banner year. The band was cramed in the back corner of the stage, in the dark, while dude is in the opposite front corner, singing and playin guitar, with a spot light on him?!@ The crowd was a bunch of psudo mod squad, bowl cut, dark levi wearin, herion freaks from the UofA. They all just stood and swayed while my drunk ass wanted to bust heads as they ripped through "Doin the Cockroach".
-end flashback-
Theyve come along way since then, but still played the old shit, a great set. My Morning Jacket was killer, they had a bunch of people in costume on stage, even a killer giraffe, made me wanna be a giraffe for Halloween. I always think, Man, i gotta get a camera, but why? You can get the best shots from the net. Then there was The Mars Volta, wow, pretty cool. I missed Galactic for it, and anyone who knows me, knows i live for a Galactic show, but it was well worth it. Sometimes ya gotta see something new... right. Signal Path, DJ Krush, Rilo Kiley, Kings of Leon, Jurassic 5, shit even the Black Crowes tore it up. The Bo dude from American Idol sang Panama with Trey for heavens sake!! Wanna hear it click here. What did you expect, it sucks! But i found it, so i had to point you to it. It was a blast at the time. Thanks for keeping that one short Trey.

Everybody out there, ya gotta do the Roo!!!!!

Inspired by Sluggo, the 704d K-9, this blog has an official mascot... Fishy Fish, please take time to feed the fish.
