Busch is the Best

I love this place, i cant believe its coming down. You can only imagine my joy when i came across a mission that also involved drinking beer and eating hotdogs in the middle of a Cardinals game.

Cards vs Astros

They should be building Busch Stadium of the 21st Century!

Busch is the last of the cookie cutter, multi-purpose stadiums of the 60's. 3 Rivers, The Vet, Riverfront, and Fulton County are already history. Those other Stadiums deserved their fate of implosion. All of them were just plain ugly, bad turf, small bathrooms, seats in strange places, and a complete lack of taxpayer provided luxury boxes needed to protect the elite from the masses. Busch Stadium is a visually pleasing structure, the use of arches in the roof fits the theme of St. Louis. Every seat is a good seat. Being able to see only the tip tops of the skycrapers reaching for the stars gives the feeling of watching a baseball game while floating in the sky. Since the grass was added, and the seats moved closer Busch Stadium feels more like a ballpark then those cookie cutter coliseums ever dreamed. Stadiums of the last 15 years have been built in the throw-back style started in Baltimore with Camden Yards. Now everyone has one, and soon the Cardinals will have another form of the cookie cutter field. The new Busch Stadium was an opportunity to break the rules, update the mold, and create a new style for a new century, but no. Lets hope the Show-Me how, we'll do it better slogan holds true for the new Busch Stadium, just like it did at Busch Classic.

On the topic of sports, check out Kurt sporting the new Big Red threads. I cant wait for the Cardinals and Warner to stomp the Spams this year!

Some funny stuff here at Democracy for You, but using GW's speech writing adlibs is pure joy.
